1. What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Massage therapy can help reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, relieve pain, increase flexibility, and support injury recovery. It also promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and can improve sleep and overall well-being.

2. What should I expect during my first session?

At your first appointment, we'll discuss your health history, goals, and any specific concerns or areas of discomfort. You’ll remain covered by a sheet and blanket, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered. The session is tailored to your comfort level.

3. What should I wear?

Due to the unique nature of the work I do, it is best to wear loose-fitting clothes or workout attire if at all possible. During a massage, you will be properly draped at all times to ensure privacy.

4. Will the massage be painful?

Massage should never be overly painful. Some deeper work may cause temporary discomfort, but communication is key - I will discuss with the client any technique that may involve discomfort and gain permission before proceeding. I always encourage clients to speak up if pressure needs to be adjusted.

5. How often should I get a massage?

It depends on your individual needs and goals. For general maintenance and stress relief, once a month is often beneficial. For injury recovery or chronic pain, more frequent sessions may be recommended initially.

6. Do you accept insurance or HSA/FSA cards?

Some plans may cover massage therapy, especially if prescribed for medical reasons. I can provide receipts or documentation for reimbursement. HSA/FSA cards are accepted—feel free to ask for more details.
